Promises of God

Promises of God

For times when we struggle.

The Holidays can be so wonderful - and so difficult as well as we deal with life's struggles, loss, grief - all seem more stark with the background of the joy of the season and celebration.

Thanks be to God that we can rely on Him! The author of Psalm 46 writes: 1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

He doesn't say that struggles don't happen - but that God is our refuge when they do.

God also gives us each other so turn to those around you both for help and for those who need help. Reach out to your neighbors and friends! As God said, it's not good for man to be alone.

Below is a list I found on the internets at thenivbible.com of the promises of God broken down by the struggles we may be facing:

God’s promises when you’re feeling …

Guilty

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. – Hebrews 10:22-23
