Happy Friday church family!
It is hard to believe that September is right around the corner – the summer is drawing to a close, leaves are showing signs of turning, and we’re in the midst of fair season. Of course this also means that a new school year is beginning – which some students dread and others eagerly anticipate. Some students can’t wait for their senior year to end so that organized schooling can be over for them. Many of us act the same way spiritually. “I’m grown, I’m a believer, I attend church… I’ve ‘made it’.” But growing in wisdom and knowledge is not a short term or temporary thing. We are called to be living sacrifices, transforming our lives into the likeness of Jesus by the renewing of our minds and the pursuit of holiness. We are to be continuously in school – learning holiness, humility, worship, service, stewardship, prayer, faith and many others. Each year we should advance in maturity and faith. If you’ve been on a bit of a summer vacation for weeks, months, or even years – It’s back to school! Return to your relationship with Jesus!
For all of us – let us continually pray for the students, the teachers, paras, staff – for growth, for learning, and for safety.
-- In faith, Pastor Eric
“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” Proverbs 9:9-10 ESV
