A Fair Weekender

Happy Friday church family!

It has been an absolutely beautiful several days of weather, and I am very thankful for it. I’m also thankful that we are heading into fair season. This weekend is the Kooch county fair in Northome and next week the Beltrami fair as well. And only 20 more days until the Great Minnesota Get-Together at the State Fair. Fairs are a good time for celebrating a harvest, the next generation of farm animals, and showing masterpieces of the home and kitchen. There is just a buzz and energy at the fair – an atmosphere of celebration. I am hoping to get to the Beltrami county fair next weekend. I especially like to see the animal events and the 4H projects. After eight years as a 4H family in Arizona, it just holds a special place in my heart. I know how much time and effort those kids invest for their moment during the fair!

And let us also remember to show gratitude to the One who created it all. God designed our world and its seasons, the ebbs and flows of life and birth, and the bounty that the earth produces. As we gather around our tables, and the fair food stands, let us pause and give God thanks for the blessings he has lavished on us! He is Good!

-- In faith, Pastor Eric

“You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain for so you have prepared it. You water its furrows abundantly, settling its ridges, softening it with showers, and blessing its growth. You crown the year with your bounty; your wagon tracks overflow with abundance. The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy. Psalm 65:9-13 ESV
